Tomatoes which did not manage to ripe shall be used in chutney! Browse and search for "green tomato chutney" or mix some or all of these ingredients (which were found in various recipes): 500 g green tomatoes, chopped, 4 onions (or shallots), few apples (skinned), ca. 120 g of raisins (or cranberries, blueberries,...), ca. 100 ml of vinegar (even flavoured), few tablespoons of suger, 2 tablespoons of salt, teaspoon of chilli, fresh ginger (to be added during cooking) or garlic (best to add at the end of cooking). You may add mustard seeds as well; however, the chutney is delicious even without them... Fill the prepared jars with hot mix and turn upside down until cold. Yummy!
